Il noto DX club danese DSWCI - Danish Shortwave Club International chiuderà a fine 2016, fondato nel 1956 ha preso la decisione di interrompere ogni attività a causa di alcuni motivi riportati nel seguente comunicato apparso su DX-Window no.540 :

to EACH member of DSWCI
As you could read in Shortwave News (SWN) June in the Report from our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 09, 2015, our Board had four reasons for proposing the dissolution of the DSWCI by the end of December 2016:
1. We are close to the end of shortwave broadcasting.
2. Less time for Club work by our ageing Board members.
3. No younger members available as substitutes.
4. We intend to celebrate our 60th anniversary, before we dissolve the DSWCI. Our Club was formed on Nov 18, 1956.
You can also read in the Report, that 97% of the members at the AGM voted YES for this dissolution.
The Board has decided that the capital, which the DSWCI has saved up during the years from our members, in principle shall go back to the members in form of some free SWNs after the paid annual fee of each member runs out, instead of donating the total capital to a Radio Museum or to charitable purposes.
Today our present capital can cover the costs of producing SWN until December 2016. Thus we have decided with immediate effect to cut off collection of membership fees and acceptance of new members ! This means that you do not have to renew your membership any longer from the date, when you read this. You will get free SWN’s after your paid
membership terminates.
