Commemorating the Centennial Anniversary of the historic wireless transatlantic transmissions by the Italian Inventor Guglielmo Marconi in 1901-1903 and the birth of wireless communications as a service benefiting humanity.
The first wireless transatlantic telegram, realized by Marconi, was sent by Edward VII , King of England, from London, to Theodore Roosevelt,President of the United States of America in Washington,D.C. The radio stations that were essential to the successful transmissions were at Poldhu, in Cornwall, England and at Wellfleet, Cape Cod,Massachusetts, in the United States of America.
In honor of the occasion , King Vittorio Emanuele III of Italy sent to the Heads of State a message of congratulations. This Centennial Anniversary has been officially endorsed by the Comitato Atlantic-Link.
