W0S Titanic Special Event 14-15 Aprile 2012



To all Clubs and Ham radio associations, and individuals

The 100th Anniversary Titanic Special Event W0S will be held this year on the 13th 14th 15th of April 2012. The 13th will be a QRP event and starting at 8am Saturday the 14th running thru Sunday the 15th till around 4 pm will be the main event.This year we are asking clubs to sponsor a radio and run it the whole weekend or if we can get a big turn out, make it into blocks of time. This is the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and we want to make this a huge event. Please ask your club members to come as a club or an association to be apart of a great event!! April 13, 2012 7:00 p m to 10:00 p m

Frequencies
40 Meters 7.055 to 7.060 MHz
80 Meter 3.555 to 3.600 MHZ

This will be a slow speed event - we will adjust speed for the calling
station. Expect speeds from 8 to 13 WPM
Remember this is "QRP" - slow and steady is the rule, no speed
demons, please!

This is not a contest, this is a commemoration of the operators that
stuck with the ship on that fateful cold night to get out the SOS.
We honor respect their commitment to saves lives.

W0S will make every effort to answer any and all calls made to us.
Please be patient and space out your calls.

Roberto Giacobbo su RAI2 affronta il caso del Titanic: è tutto spiegato quello che successe quella drammatica notte del 14 aprile del 1912 in cui persero la vita oltre 1500 persone o c'è qualcosa che ancora non è stato chiarito? Perché solo 14 anni prima venne pubblicato un romanzo dal nome Titan con delle coincidenze incredibili? Voyager ha ripercorso tutte le possibili ipotesi che circondano la gelida notte in cui l'”inaffondabile” si scontrò con l'iceberg che ne avrebbe decretato la fine.
